Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

This is a photo I took of an eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly at Little Manatee River State Park:

These butterflies don’t land much, and thus are hard to photograph. Part of this one’s bottom left wing is missing, probably from a predator. These butterflies are also very large, with a four-and-a-half inch wingspan — large enough for us to hear its wings beating as it flew by.
